Used Vehicle Engines

Replacing an engine can be the single most expensive repair on a vehicle. Buying a good used engine can save you thousands.

First it is important to determine engine type, we request engine codes are matched. All mis-ordered engines will occur a 25% sur-charge and delivery costs both ways regardless of reason are at buyers cost. All deposits are non-refunable. Any engine not returned in the same condition as supplied will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Most if not all engines we supply are low mileage, engines are only removed from vehicles when a sale is agreed. We encourage all customers to come down in person and hear engines running whilst still fitted to vehicle, and carry out any tests/inspection they wish

Keep in mind when buying a used engine you are buying engine block, head and internal componets only. Ancillary parts are left on engine for convenience and will not be gauranteed to fit or be covered under the warranty. Vehicle manufacturers use the same engine blocks and heads for many years, but ancillary parts may differ from year to year.

If an engine runs well for the first couple of days, then it should run well for a very long time, as long as it is not abused or neglected. You have to keep in mind an engine is a machine.

30 Days/1,000 miles (whichever occurs sooner) Warranty

The engine supplied must be fitted within 10 days of its receipt. A new thermostat, full service, timing belt/chain kit inc tensioner must be installed at the time of engine installation. Works must be carried out by suitably qualified and experienced mechanics. Proof of this will be required. Mileage photo must be supplied. Failure to comply with any of the above will invalidate the warranty.

The engine warranty covers engine block, heads and all internals. Bolt on parts, ancillary parts are not covered.

The warranty does not cover

Damage due to improper installation, negligence. alteration, accident damage, flood damage, improper use.

Damage caused by lack of proper maintenance as described in the vehicles original owners manual/maintenance schedule, failure to use or maintain proper type and levels of fluid, fuel, oil and lubricants recommended in the vehicle owners manual.

Damage as a result of overheating, contamination or lack of lubrication.Damage occuring as a result of a failure of any ancillary parts. Warranty rights will be void on any engine that has been damaged (directly or indirectly) as a result of customer ignorance, neglect or abuse.

Any vehicle used for hire or reward including taxis, chauffeur, driving schools, courier vehicles. Any use related to racing, track or competition.

Any vehicle modified, which differs from the manufacturers original specification in whole or part or a vehicle altered to be powered by any alternative fuel source or type (such as LPG)

If an engine proves to be faulty within the warranty period, we will at our discretion, make a cost effective repair or replace the engine. However if a replacement unit is not available, we reserve the right to refund the cost at which the engine was purchased in full and final settlement. We do not cover consequential loss ie loss of time, inconvenience, loss of use, removal or installation labour costs, delivery costs or any other economic loss.

The companies total liability in contract shall be limited to the price paid for the engine supplied.
